Terms and Conditions

Prices & Payment 

All menu pricing is GST inclusive. Menu item prices do not include wait staff, equipment hire or delivery charges. Payment terms are 7 days on invoice. Payment can be made by Cash, Cheque, Direct Deposit or Credit Card. A surcharge of 2% applies for all payments made by American Express. Private functions and weddings are required to pay a 50% deposit upon acceptance of quote to secure the booking.


Sitting Ducks Catering will prepare electronic obligation free quotes at no cost, which will be sent via email. Quotes are valid for 28 days, and written/email acceptance is required from clients in order to secure bookings. Final confirmation of your booking will also be sent via email.

Dietary Requirements 

Notification of specific dietary requirements is required upon quotation request. Each individual specific dietary request will incur a $2.50 surcharge per meal when ordering.

Cancellation Policy 

Cancellations made less than 72 hours prior to delivery will incur a charge of 30% of the total invoice.
Cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to delivery will incur a charge of 60% of the total invoice.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to delivery will incur the full cost of invoice. 

Final Numbers 

For small functions: Notification of final numbers is required 7 working days prior to the event date. Slight alterations (±2) can be made no less than 4 working days prior to the event date.  For larger functions and weddings 14 days notice is required.


All functions on Sundays and Public Holidays will incur a 15% surcharge on the total bill. Minimum order on Sunday and Public Holidays is $2000.  For orders totalling less than $200.00, a collection fee will also be charged (at same rate as delivery). Deliveries required at (or prior to) 8:30 am & at (or after) 6:30 pm will incur a $25.00 surcharge.

Minimum Numbers 

Orders for less than 5 people are not accepted. Orders for less than 10 people will incur a 15% surcharge.

Delivery & Equipment

Below charges allow for 1 delivery and 1 collection per function. All platters must be thoroughly rinsed and dried ready for collection the next day. Additional charges will occur for delivery and collection of substantial amounts of hire / equipment. Every effort will be made to ensure delivery is made at exact designated times; however, tight delivery schedules during busy periods may result in early delivery or slight delays.  All catering equipment remain the property of Sitting Ducks Catering and must be  returned in clean and good order.  Any damanges, breakages and non returns will be charged for.

Set/Up Pack down for small functions

If you choose not to hire staff and upon delivery or collection Sitting Ducks is required set up or pack down for conference packages and larger morning tea’s a surcharge of $100.00 will be added to your final invoice.

Wait Staff & Qualified Chefs 

Sitting Ducks can book highly professional wait staff to ensure your function runs seamlessly. Wait staff rates are $42.50 per hour (for a minimum of 3 hours), Weekend rates apply. For Cocktail & Buffet functions 1 staff member is required in the kitchen, and in regards to serving staff (on the floor), these are advised at a ratio of 1 (waiter) per 20 (guests). For seated formal dining 1 waiter is recommended per 10-12 guests. For functions requiring a Chef we recommend 1 Chef per 12-13 guests. Chef rates are $55.00 per hour (minimum 3 hours). Weekend rates apply, please ask. Alternate service menu options may require additional Chef/Waiter Assistance.
